The dime store
In the 50s they didn’t have Dollar Tree, but they did have the dime store.
In the early 50s an ice cream cone only cost 5 cents. A coke only cost 5 cents. It only cost 3 cents to mail a letter. Gasoline was 23 cents per gal. and they pumped it and washed your windshild. If you paid for a spark plug they would put it in for you for free.
A quarter had 25 cents worth of silver in it. To day a quarter only has about 2 cents worth of copper. Who got your other 23 cents?
Let’s face it today we are getting ripped off.
